ICSI — Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection — is the most effective IVF treatment for male infertility. It requires just one sperm per egg. Whether your issue is low count, zero motility, no sperm (azoospermia), or failed previous IVF cycles — ICSI at Mother Hospitals offers the best path to fatherhood.
Mother Hospitals recommends ICSI for all cases with significant male factor infertility. The marginal additional lab cost of ICSI is offset by significantly higher fertilisation rates.
All of the following conditions are treated with ICSI at Mother Hospitals Hyderabad
Semen analysis, hormone panel, DNA fragmentation test, scrotal ultrasound. All results explained. Treatment protocol designed around your specific parameters.
The female partner is given hormone injections (7–14 days) to stimulate multiple egg development. Regular monitoring with ultrasound and blood tests. Triggered when follicles are ready.
Semen sample collected on the day of egg retrieval. For azoospermia: TESA performed on the same day under local anaesthesia — sperm retrieved directly from the testis and prepared for ICSI.
Embryologist selects a single sperm (or TESA sperm) and injects it directly into each mature egg under high magnification. PICSI used for high DFI cases. 60–80% fertilisation rate per mature egg.
Fertilised eggs develop in the lab to blastocyst stage (Day 5–6). Only good-quality blastocysts are transferred or frozen. PGT-A (genetic testing) available for high-risk cases or advanced age.
One or two blastocysts transferred to the uterus on Day 5–6. Extra embryos are cryopreserved for future frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles. Pregnancy test 12 days after transfer.
